Healthy Smiles for Haiti Providing Preventive Dental Care & Services for the People of Haiti Record of Events, Sept. 2001- Spring 2007
History and Background Information
Thank
you visiting Healthy Smiles For Haiti.
This journey began in 2000 when our daughter Andrea explained the
living conditions of Haitians living in the Dominican Republic. Our
family choose Venise Lamartinier to sponsor through Christian Child
Care International. That was when the seed was planted. January 1, 2004
marked the 200th anniversary of independence from France. Haiti was the
first black nation to gain its independence. Two centuries later there
is little to celebrate, as Haiti has the distinction of being the
poorest nation in the Western hemisphere.
Those of us involved with Healthy Smiles For Haiti are dedicated to looking past the struggles to the individuals, the young and not so young - to teach, to share and to relieve the sufferings caused by an unhealthy mouth. Many supplies such as anesthetic, needles, gauze, xrays are desperately needed. Your financial donation will be greatly appreciated! Please call me by phone at: 905 389-7602 Tax receipts will be issued for contributions exceeding $10.00. Enjoy the journey through the other albums and please pray for the people of Haiti, and we who try to make a difference!
Sincere thanks, Georgina Cosentino, Founder
